You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserves your love and affection - Buddha

Yoga truly is one of the great loves of my life. From the moment I stepped into my first yoga class on a chilly April morning @ 5.45 am, I was hooked! It has been the catalyst for some major shifts in my life, enabling me to take amazing journeys within, as well as to some beautiful places around me. Most significantly, it has taken me to India, where I fulfilled one of my life-long dreams of going to the source of Yoga, to I complete my 500hr my teacher training. I feel like the most blessed being to have been given this opportunity of gathering information from one the of the most sacred places on the planet, and then being able to bring that home and share those experiences and teachings with my students and friends. Yoga is so much more than just getting onto your mat once a week. But that is where the journey begins. It blossoms into a whole beautiful lifestyle, unimaginable to some, but a reality of many.

It is in my DNA to always want to learn, grow and seek, and pass that knowledge on in my classes and teachings. Yoga offers me that medium. It allows me to dive deep and find answers and solutions in places where I least expect to find them. That is the beauty of Yoga. That is the beauty of Life.

Yoga is a prayer to the Divine through your body. Through the grace of the practice and the awareness of breath, we get to connect and align with Source.  The word Yoga in Sanskrit means to unite, to bring harmony within the body, mind and spirit with the aim of achieving a state of Oneness with the Universe. It is a wholly practical science based on certain immutable laws of Nature and geometry and the ancients had no doubt that it opens the pathways for this to happen for ALL of us!

You can find me at The Alchemy Hub, my cosy yoga studio in Cape Town, where I teach beginner and intermediate yoga. My classes vary from Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin, which are all derivatives of Hatha Yoga. I take great joy in teaching beginners because it’s always so amazing to see how people awaken and evolve as their paths unfold.

Beginner Yoga

I’ve developed an in-depth 8-week beginner course, offering students a deeper understanding of the holistic practice of Yoga, not just the asana. This includes cleansing practices, holistic living and most importantly, vibrational awareness.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha is the most widely practiced form of yoga in the world. It uses asanas (postures) and focuses strongly on conscious breathing (Pranayama), in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility, and relaxation. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, it brings in a sense of balance, strength, and a sense of well-being.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa classes are all about fluidity and flowing movements involving creative flowing sequences geared to open and strengthen the entire body. The poses are connected by a vinyasa, which means to flow, something like a mini Sun Salutation, that keeps you moving and flowing, and sometimes sweating!

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga (feminine) is the perfect complement or balancing practice for yang (masculine) style of Yoga that emphasizes internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of the muscles. It targets the connective tissue such as ligaments, the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, bones, and the joints of the body that normally aren’t exercised very much in a more active style of practice. It is suitable for almost all levels of students.
